  • La compagnie lettonne Air Baltic lance sa toute 1ère ligne vers l'Afrique et le Maroc avec Riga-Marrakech

airBaltic To Launch Its First Route To Marrakech in October

The Latvian airline airBaltic announced on Tuesday its winter schedule which includes its first-ever flights to Marrakech.

The winter connections will link the company’s base in Riga to approximately 50 destinations from October 31, 2022, to March 24, 2023.

airBaltic has published its flight schedule for the upcoming winter season that will start on October 31, 2022. The airline plans to connect Riga to almost 50 destinations across its network.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic, said of the offers: “At the beginning of the winter season, we will launch our first-ever scheduled flights to Africa – Marrakesh in Morocco – and add our second destination on the Canary Islands – Gran Canaria.”

He added that the airline plans to cancel “few commercially unviable routes” and “significantly” increase flight frequency to and from Tallinn, Helsinki, Stockholm, and Brussels to meet the increasing demand for business travel.

Operating since 1995, airBaltic welcomed on August 31 its 50 millionth passenger onboard an Airbus connecting Vienna, Austria, to the airline’s home base in Riga airport.

In July, Gauss told Airways Magazine about the company’s plans to extend its operations into Africa with Morocco serving as a gateway to the continent.

airBaltic’s CEO further underlined his ambition to boost seat capacity by summer 2023 by increasing flight frequencies and launching new connections.

According to Gauss, the cancellation of flights in Russia has redirected travelers toward airBaltic’s home base in Riga, which currently serves as a hub for flights to Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
